What determines a coin's value
Precious-metal value
For bullion, U.S. 90% silver coinage and most common coins, value comes mainly from the weight and purity of the gold or silver they contain.
Today's market
Precious metals move daily, and offers follow the current market.
Collectible value
Some coins are worth more than their metal because of their date, mint mark, condition or scarcity. Many older coins are not, and we'll tell you which is which.
What to bring
- The coins, bullion or currency, in their holders, albums or cases if they have them
- A valid government-issued photo ID

Questions
Before you come in.
I inherited a coin collection. Should I sort it first?
No. Leave the coins in their albums, holders and boxes, and bring the whole collection as it is. We'll go through it with you, from a single coin to a complete collection.
Should I clean my coins first?
No. Cleaning can lower the value of collectible coins. Bring them as they are.
Do you buy graded and ungraded coins?
Yes. We buy PCGS- and NGC-graded coins, along with ungraded coins. Depending on the piece, value may come from collectible demand, precious-metal content, or both.
Do you buy junk silver and pre-1933 gold coins?
Yes. U.S. 90% silver coinage, often called "junk silver," is valued mainly on its silver content. Pre-1933 U.S. gold coins are valued on their gold, and some are worth more to collectors. We'll tell you which.
Do you buy paper currency?
Yes. Bring it in with your coins and we'll look at everything together.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk in any time during business hours, Monday through Saturday. We're closed on Sundays.
Is there a fee for an evaluation?
No. Every evaluation is free and private, and you're never under pressure to accept an offer.
When do I get paid?
If you accept an offer, you're paid the same day.
Also selling something else? We buy gold, estate jewelry, luxury watches, sterling silver and gemstones.
